It’s been a long time coming but the GTA Technical Committee have agreed the basis for a rate increase effective from 1st July. Subscribers are being consulted on the proposals.

The review is good news for all CHOs except, I suspect, those with a heavy bias in their fleet of prestige, 4x4, or motor bikes.

The review proposes a rate increase of 7.5% for mainstream (standard) cars, MPV, and commercial vehicles.

It limits to 2.5% and 0% respectively the proposed increase in rates for motor bikes and prestige vehicles.

The proposal also contemplates an increase for 4x4 vehicle rates of 2%.

Rates for taxi vehicles (excluding PT9 and PT13) are to be increased by 7.5%.
